Alex York

is a journalist and multi-media specialist based in New York City. Currently working at Business Insider, Alex covers the Future of Work, Generation Z, and emerging talent and workplace trends. She previously covered entrepreneurs and business owners with a focus on female founders and mental health.

 

She is a December 2020 graduate from New York University, where she received a B.S. in Media, Culture and Communications and a minor in Chinese Language.

Passionate about the intersection of business, youth culture, style, and travel, Alex hopes to continue telling stories through writing, editing, interviewing, and digital content production.

Previously an intern at PhotoBook Magazine, Alex has experience pitching, researching, writing, editing and digitally formatting articles. She also worked as a fashion assistant to PhotoBook's EIC Alison Hernon on editorial and catalogue shoots — with brands like L'Officiel Australia, Burlington Coat Factory, and more.

In the past Alex has worked in social media marketing, e-commerce, event and service planning, and communications coordinating for various companies and businesses.
